Frank Phillips College Volleyball Team Weatherford College Invitational

The Frank Phillips College volleyball team will open its preseason competition this Friday at the Weatherford College Invitational, a tournament that attracts great programs. The invitational will serve as the Lady Plainsmen's another preseason test of the 2025 season, giving the squad a chance to set the tone early and showcase the progress made during summer workouts. 

The coaching staff is eager to see how the team responds under live competition, especially with some of the new faces joining the roster this season. The tournament will allow players to build chemistry on the volleyball court, strengthen their communication, and gain valuable experience against quality opponents. Preseason matchups like this can be vital in preparing the team for the demanding schedule of conference play later on this fall.  

For Frank Phillips, the Weatherford College Invitational is more than just a preseason warmup—it's an opportunity to gain a lot of confidence and momentum. A strong showing on Friday could give the Lady Plainsmen a foundation to build on and demonstrate the team's potential. With determination and focus, they'll look to make their mark as they take their first step into the 2025 campaign. 

The Lady Plainsmen will have a home game to start the regular season against a non-conference opponent, Trinidad State College, this Sunday, August 31. It would be great to see everyone come in and support the Lady Plainsmen!
