FPC Rodeo Brings Home Championship Event Title from the NMJC College Rodeo!
FPC Rodeo Team traveled to Lovington, New Mexico for the NMJC College Rodeo October 23-25 for the 3rd College Rodeo of the Fall Season. Bringing home top honors in the Women's Event of Goat-tying.
FPC Freshman Business Major Kendra Deskovick from Ramona, CA is no stranger to the winners circle as she is a 2X California State Champion! The State Champ, added to her accolades with her first collegiate win at the New Mexico Junior College Rodeo! Deskovick won the Long Round with a time of 8.9 seconds, earned 4th in the Championship Short Round with a 9.9 second run, to secure the 1st place average title by over .4 seconds!
Joining Deskovick in the Championship Short Round in the Women's Event of Goat-tying was Freshman Gracie Anderson from Leonard, TX & Sophomore Ashten Stanton from Joshua, TX. Ashten turned in a time of 10.2 in the Long Round placing 9th, and came back fierce to win the Championship Short Round with a time of 9.3, finishing 3rd in the aggregate! Gracie turned in a time of 9.6 to place 3rd in the Long Round, some tough luck in the Short Round had her finishing 9th.
Several other FPC Rodeo athletes had top place finishes at NMJC, but just fell short of qualifying for the Top 10 Championship Round!

The FPC Rodeo Mens Team is currently battling through injuries, with 4 of the Top Men's Performers out for the remainder of the season.
