FPC Freshman Take Over in Odessa
FPC Bullrider Wyatt Bowman wins the Odessa College Rodeo! The Freshman from Plains City, UT made the 8 second whistle Thursday night in Odessa, TX scoring 74 points to finish second in the Long Round & qualifying him for the Saturday night championship Short Round! Bowman then turned in the highest score of the weekend with 85.5 points to win the round & the Championship aggregate!
Joining him in the Odessa College Rodeo Championship Round were four additional FPC Freshman.
In the women's event of goat-tying FPC qualified three athletes into the Top 10. The only Freshman to qualify for the Top 10 in the event all came from Frank Phillips College!
FPC Freshman Gracie Anderson from Leonard, TX turned in the second fastest time of the weekend with a 6.2 second run, to place her 2nd in the Long Round! Her Short Round time landed her a 6th place finish in the aggregate!
FPC Freshman Amy Hall from Freetown, IN turned in a time of 6.9 in the Long Round to qualify for the Top 10 & place 6th in the Round. In the Saturday night Championship Round Amy turned in a time of 6.8 for 3rd in the Round and 4th in the aggregate!
FPC Freshman Addison Pecha from Enid, OK qualified for the Top 10 Championship Round in both the Goat-tying & Barrel-racing! In the goat-tying Addison finished 9th in the Short Round & aggregate!
In the Barrel-racing Addison qualified for the Top 10 Championship Round in 6th place with a time of 14.43, placed 4th in the Short Round with a time of 14.44 and finished 4th in the average.
Several additional FPC Rodeo athletes had great showings placing within the Top 20 of their respective events. In the Goat-tying Ashten Stanton 13th, Olivia Jamieson 17th, Kendra Deskovick 18th, Avery Kinkelaar 20th. In the Breakaway McKenna Waterman 19th.
