FPC Rodeo Brings Home Event Champion at Texas Tech College Rodeo!
FPCs Kendra Deskovick recently won the women's event of Goat-tying at the NMJC College Rodeo October 23-25th & she has done it again! The Freshman from Ramona, CA won 2nd in the Texas Tech Long Round with a time of 8.2, turned in a time of 8.6 during the Championship Short Round to finalize a tied first place finish in the aggregate! Her combined points from NMJC & Texas Tech have secured her a spot in the Top 3 of the Caprock Region Goat-tying standings!
Joining her in the Saturday night Championship Top 10 Short Round were teammates Ashten Stanton, Avery Kinkelaar, Abbilyn Strandberg, and Wyatt Bowman!
Freshman Barrel-racer Abbilyn Strandberg from Audubon, MN turned in a blitzing fast time of 16.57 to qualify for the Top 10 Championship Short Round out of 90 contestant entries! Her short round time of 16.41 had her finishing 4th in the Round & 4th in the average!
Sophomore Ashten Stanton from Joshua, TX turned in times of 8.6 (Long Round/7th), 9.0 (Short Round/tied for 3rd), and finishes 4th in the average of the Texas Tech College Rodeo Goat-tying!
Freshman Goat-tyer Avery Kinkelaar from Assaria, KS turned in times of 8.5 (Long Round/tied 5th, 8.8+10 (Short Round/8th) and due to a penalty finishes 8th in the aggregate of the Texas Tech College Rodeo Goat-tying!
Freshman Bullrider & Reserve National High-School Champion Wyatt Bowman from Plains City, UT qualified for the Texas Tech Championship Short Round with a score of 70.5 points placing 8th in the Round & Average!
Several more FPC Rodeo Athletes had excellent showings, just falling outside of the Top 10 Championship Short Round!
Freshman Breakaway-roper McKenna Waterman from Paicines, CA finished 11th out of 102 contestant entries. The qualifying time for the Top 10 was 2.8 seconds & Mckenna turned in a time of 2.9!
Freshman Team-roping team McKenna Waterman & Ryder Jamieson finished 16th in the Team-roping!
Freshman Olivia Jamieson finished 13th in the Goat-tying with a time of 8.9!
Freshman Addison Pecha made some great runs, but a little tough luck with a penalty barrel cost her a 3rd place win in the long round of Barrel-racing. A unfortunate penalty in the goat-tying also cost her a 2nd place qualifying time in the goat-tying!
The FPC Rodeo Womens Team finished 3rd overall at the Texas Tech College Rodeo!
